ESC Global is a research and manufacturing company specialising in the development of water treatment products and services specific to the diverse water treatment industry.
We employ a team of microbiologists and chemists across Europe. Each of these individuals is specifically tasked with identifying and rectifying areas of concern with companies and organisations using water in their production, cooling or heating operations.
Additionally their efforts are complimented by a team of operators specifically trained to apply and use our water treatment products within these industries. We are able to supply a team on site to train our customer staff in the correct use of our products as well as undertake specific cleaning and treatment regimes to assist our customers in attaining the best, most economical and safest utilisation of their plant and equipment.
We operate across the UK and Europe with our manufacturing plant situated on the German border in Szczecin, Poland.
An extensive stock holding is kept at the manufacturing unit, in Norway, Denmark and Sweden as well as in the UK.
Environmental Specialty Chemicals Ltd was established in the late 1990’s in Doncaster, South Yorkshire as a manufacturer of blended chemicals. These products were primarily to supply the Northern European markets with specially blended chemicals to service the growing need in hot and cold water systems in that region.
Products were developed to inhibit scale, corrosion and biofouling within industrial systems. Legionella and bacteria control became an important sector of our business. This business grew into Norway, Sweden, Poland, Denmark and Iceland. We currently manufacture over 40 formulations.
AS Mitco in Norway was, during this period, a significant customer of ESC Ltd. They service the general industrial, food, municipal and commercial water treatment sector in Norway and Sweden with specially blended chemical products. In addition to the Norwegian operation a company was established in Morocco to service North Africa.
In 2007 these companies entered into a joint deal to combine the manufacturing technology of ESC with the sales and distribution aspects AS Mitco had developed.
The company ESC Global Ltd was thus incorporated to include the companies in all of the above countries. These companies are individual limited companies owned and managed by Keith Slingsby and Rune Gulbrandsen.
Keith Slingsby - Joint MD of ESC Global - has over 30 years experience in the international chemical manufacturing and water treatment products market having worked as a senior chemist for some of the major players in this field.
Rune Gulbransen - Joint MD of ESC Global - is a chemical engineer and has, over the last 20 years, established and managed one of the largest suppliers of speciality chemicals in Norway and Northern Europe.
We employ about 80 people across the UK and Europe. Many of our staff have formal qualifications well related to their job functions and include a team of chemists in Poland and microbiologists in Norway. These two teams work synergistically and across borders with our customers and sales teams in developing and testing formulations for use across a number of diverse industries.
These include boiler and cold water management and treatment in industry and commerce, waste water treatment, Legionella and other bacteria detection and control in the local government and other markets, general sanitisers for the agricultural, food and health care markets and potable water treatment products for water companies. We also spend considerable time conducting comprehensive site surveys for our customers to determine the best way forward and, where required, modify or develop blends best suited to their specific needs.
At the end of last year we transferred our manufacturing and blending plant from Doncaster to Szczecin in Poland primarily to benefit from a reduced cost base and to better service the largest part of our market.
The ESC Global Ltd head office remains in the UK to service this market with our traditional products as well as to assist with the international development of new innovative products and concepts.
Our collective group of companies should turn over in the region of equivalent to £10 million this financial year. We believe this makes us large enough to cope and small enough to care.
We are continually developing relationships with international manufacturers of chemical water treatment products we feel will enhance our range and assist our customers.
In addition our team of microbiologists and chemists are developing, testing and launching new formulations continually and proactively to satisfy the changing requirements in our diverse markets.
